• Accor, a world-leading hospitality group, has partnered with executive travel managers and buyers from 17 major international corporations to form the Accor Global Leadership Council (GLC). This innovative advisory board is set to redefine corporate travel and meetings for 2025 and beyond. The council, which includes representatives from diverse industries such as financial services, engineering, manufacturing, transportation, energy, professional services, and technology, aims to create a forward-looking vision for business travel and corporate meetings.

    The inaugural session, hosted in Paris by Sophie Hulgard, Chief Sales Officer at Accor, tackled key issues impacting corporate travel. Topics included evolving corporate and traveller expectations, the significance of recognition and personalization, B2B-focused loyalty, sustainability, emerging traveller trends, and the impact of distribution and pricing.

    Three core priorities emerged from the discussions:

    1. Traveller Experience and Well-being: This encompasses corporate employee engagement, wellness, traveller security, and digital efficiencies.
    2. Cost Management and Optimization: Focus areas include program compliance, pricing strategies, cost-reduction, and cost avoidance.
    3. Sustainability: This involves sustainable actions, carbon budgets, and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) initiatives.

    Sophie Hulgard emphasised the rapid evolution of corporate travel dynamics and the necessity for both clients and hospitality businesses to adapt to these new demands and priorities. The GLC is expected to produce valuable insights and actionable strategies, with a comprehensive report to be released later in the year.
